Services for Homeless Children

Services Offered to Homeless Children and Youth Experiencing Homelessness in our Region:

• Assistance with School enrollment/placement;

• Agency referrals (clothing, food, shelter);

• School supplies/fees;

• Increasing public awareness on homelessness;

• Consultative phone calls for homeless parents on preschool/school issues;

• Coordination of services;

• Interagency problem solving;

• Literature on homeless children, provision of training and in-service;

• Personal visits to shelter/agencies/schools;

• Coordinating school related transportation;

• Tracking/transferring school records; and

• Accessing educational programs (preschool, before & after, summer)
