Overview
Midwestern Intermediate Unit IV is happy to be able to bring to you the Heartsaver® CPR AED Course and the Heartsaver® First Aid Course. We can host these courses at the IU, or bring them to your school. Choose either the Heartsaver® CPR AED course alone or pair it up with the Heartsaver® First Aid Course for a full day of learning.
Coarse Goals-The Heartsaver® First Aid and CPR AED Courses are designed to prepare you to provide first aid, cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR), and automated external defibrillator (AED) use in a safe, timely, and effective manner.
During the Heartsaver® CPR AED Course you will:
Learn the concepts of Chain Survival
Learn how to recognize when someone needs CPR
Learn how to perform high-quality CPR for an adult
Learn how to give effective breaths by using mouth-to-mouth or a mask for all age groups
Learn how to perform high-quality CPR for a child
During the Heartsaver® First Aid Course you will:
Learn how to remove protective gloves
Learn how to use an epinephrine pen
Learn how to control bleeding and bandaging
Learn how to recognize elements of common injuries
Learn how to recognize elements of common illnesses
Two Options to Choose From:
Heartsaver® CPR AED course-half day training
Heartsaver® CPR AED course and Heartsaver® First Aid Course-full day training
