HOMES
Students that are blind or legally blind often do not know other students that have a visual diagnosis. Many students with visual impairments will ask their TVI, “Are there other students like me?” Students that attend the HOMES program will be able to connect with other students that have similar visual diagnosis. Students will learn skills and strategies that will prepare them for success after graduating high school.
HOMES aims to increase each student’s level of independence, guided by the Expanded Core Curriculum (ECC). These skills include the following areas:
-
Food Preparation Skills
-
Shopping Skills
-
Laundry Skills
-
Cleaning Skills
-
Recreation and Leisure Skills
-
Money Management Skills
-
Volunteer Experience
-
Socialization Skills
