HOMES
Students who are visually impaired often do not know other students that have a visual diagnosis. Many students with visual impairments will ask their TVI, “Are there other students like me?”
Students that attend the HOMES, The Home Orientation and Mobility Services at School, program are able to connect with other students that have similar visual diagnosis. HOMES is a great opportunity for students to have a sense of responsibility, and for students to have someone who can relate to their needs.
Sharing experiences with others who are blind or have low vision can help students understand that they are not alone, that others have had similar feelings to them, all while participating in fun activities centered around the Expanded Core Curriculum!
