Deaf and Hard of Hearing Services
Deaf and Hard of Hearing (DHH) services are specialized educational services designed to support students who are deaf or hard of hearing in accessing their educational program and developing effective communication skills. Services are provided by a certified Teacher of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing and may include instruction in listening skills, spoken language, sign language, self-advocacy, auditory training, communication strategies, social-emotional development, and the use of assistive listening technology. DHH services are individualized based on each student's hearing levels, communication needs, and educational goals. These services help ensure equitable access to instruction, promote language and communication development, and support the student's academic success and participation in school and social environments.
