Ms. Leise formed a partnership with three of Butler High School's special education teachers; Mrs. Brunner, Mrs. Carpenter and Mrs. Moser. Together, the students from these classrooms designed and created 111 super hero capes for the children to wear while they are hospitalized or receiving treatments.
On March 16th, Ms. Leise, along with her IU classroom staff, Ms. Arlene Singer and Ms. Debbie Elliott held a program in their classroom where they had the students explain their journey creating these capes. The students then donated to representatives from Butler Memorial Hospital and Jan Ferrerra, who represented Midwestern Early Intervention Program.
The students all enjoyed an ice cream social to celebrate their hard work in completing this project. Congratulations again to Ms. Leise and all involved with this project to celebrate the courage of those who are chronically ill with cancer or other debilitating illnesses.
